Yeditepe University in Istanbul is one of the few dental schools outside North America to hold accreditation from the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). Its fully English-medium Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) program is open to international students.
Program Structure
The five-year program covers basic sciences in its first two years. Clinical training begins in the third year under faculty supervision. The final year is a full-time clinical internship at the Yeditepe University Dental Hospital. Lectures, textbooks, clinical training and examinations are conducted in English, so the academic curriculum does not require Turkish language skills.
Accreditation and Recognition
CODA operates under the American Dental Association and sets standards for dental schools. The university's Faculty of Dentistry, established in 1997, is the only dental faculty in Turkey to hold CODA accreditation. The university is also accredited by YÖK, the Turkish Council of Higher Education.
CODA accreditation may improve eligibility for some licensing pathways. It does not guarantee registration or licensure in any country. Students who plan to practise outside Turkey should confirm current requirements with the relevant licensing authority before enrolling.
Tuition Fees
The 2026–2027 tuition fees are the reference for this year. Students who apply through Global Academia are offered a partner-discounted fee of $54,750 per academic year. This is $18,250 less per year than the standard published rate. Over five years, the potential saving is $91,250. Fees may be updated annually, and tuition does not cover additional costs that students must plan for separately.
Scholarships and Admission
Yeditepe University offers merit-based tuition scholarships. Eligibility is typically based on high school GPA and, where applicable, standardised test results. Scholarships are not guaranteed, and availability may change under the university's annual policy.
Dentistry admission is competitive, with limited places each year. The university does not publish an official acceptance rate for the program. O-Level or AS Level certificates alone are not sufficient. Applicants must hold at least two full A-Levels or a recognized equivalent. Qualification requirements differ by country.
Application Process
Global Academia states that it charges no application fee. The process includes an eligibility review, a document checklist, and submission of the application to the university. Global Academia reports that most eligible applicants receive a conditional offer letter within 5 to 15 business days. The university then confirms the scholarship and tuition rate. Students confirm their place by paying an enrollment deposit. Global Academia also says it assists with Turkish student visa applications.
